Faster: smoking. Slower: oral contraceptives, pregnancy, some medications, and liver conditions. Genetics matter too.

Fun fact
Caffeine doesn't give you energy. It blocks adenosine, the chemical that builds "sleep pressure" all day. The adenosine keeps piling up behind the block, which is part of why the crash can hit so hard when the caffeine wears off.

How it works

Each drink is absorbed over roughly the first hour, then cleared by your liver at a steady proportional rate. Every half-life, half of what's left is gone. The calculator adds up every drink's curve to get your total.

A(t) = Σ Di · ka / (ka − ke) · ( e−ke·Δt − e−ka·Δt )
ke = ln 2 / t½   ·   ka ≈ 4 per hour   ·   Δt = hours since drink i
